Recently, after hearing a lot of good things I visited Real Burger in Cheltenham: http://www.realburgercheltenham.com
I was, at first surprised. After reading reviews and hearing people talk about the extraordinary burgers on offer, I expected something reminiscent of a Gourmet Burger Kitchen. A trendy up market diner style decor. Instead the place resembles the kind of late night food takeaway that I used to frequent at 3AM as a student. There is a wooden bar with stools to sit at and a counter, behind which you can witness your hand made burgers sizzling on the charcoal grill.
There are many delicious looking burgers on offer, I’ve now tried the Italian – With mozzarella cheese and homemade basil pesto (with extra bacon) and the Piri Piri chicken.
Both were so good that I had a rare rush of excitement and happiness while eating. Food sometimes does this to me but its VERY rare. The last time this happened wasn’t even in this country.
The quality of the hereford beef used to hand make these burgers is excellent, and you can tell on your first bite that its going to be one of the most delicious things you’ve eaten for a long time.
If you’re still hungry, the hand cut, skin on chips are delicious and compliment the meal very well.
I urge everyone to pay this place a visit, you’ll be amazed at how good a burger and chips can be however, I will warn you that after food here you’ll never want a Mcdonnalds or Burger King meal again.
